The Ethical Engineer project is an important step towards achieving several of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By introducing ethics in AI into engineering education, the project contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education, by ensuring that future engineers are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop AI systems that are both beneficial and ethical. Additionally, the project also contributes to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by promoting the responsible development and use of AI technologies. As more industries adopt and integrate AI into their operations, it is crucial that ethical considerations are taken into account to ensure that these technologies are not used in ways that harm society or the environment.Finally, the Ethical Engineer project also contributes to SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by promoting transparency and accountability in the development and use of AI. By encouraging engineers to consider the ethical implications of their work, the project helps to prevent the misuse of AI technologies and promote the creation of systems that are fair and equitable for all.
